The Wheelers Are Here
The rumors are true; the Wheelers have arrived! Our first day in Austin was June 19 and we moved into our new home on June 20. Words like whirlwind, excited, overwhelmed, and truly thankful (along with many others) accurately describe our journey from Florida to Texas. We have been blessed by your kind prayers for safe travel and a smooth move. Thank you so much!
My Mission
As I begin my first school year as Principal of St. Theresa's Catholic School, know that I am genuinely and completely committed to making a positive impact in the lives of your children. It is a blessing, joy, and honor to have been selected to lead this very special school community. Our beloved parish school has a mission to provide your child with an excellent Catholic education. This mission is comprised of two inseparable pillars: faith and academics. Moreover, our mission absolutely requires your participation and collaboration with our faculty, staff, and administration. It is my mission through a partnership centered on the Gospel teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, to grow our school and continually improve in every way. I summarize this personal mission with these two words, "Advance Always."
Communication
Respectful communication is one of the most important characteristics in the development of a strong, positive, and intentionally Catholic school culture. In an effort to provide you with good and regular communication, my newsletter, Principal Points will go out each Friday beginning on July 10, 2020. I hope you will take the time to read it and share your feedback as well.
If you would like to meet or bring something to my attention, I encourage you contact me. To do so, you may call the school office (512) 451-7105, or send me an email at bwheeler@st-theresa.org. Additionally, I am planning to host a series of virtual Principal’s Coffees in the coming weeks. These informal meetings will likely be by grade levels and scheduled during the month of July. As the academic year unfolds, I look forward to meeting each and every member of our school community.
Get Involved
From what I have learned, St. Theresa families already know our Catholic school is better when you get involved. Your volunteering builds community and strengthens our mission. It shows your child his or her education is so important that you are willing to give your valuable time to it. Be on the lookout this year for volunteer opportunities from our PTO and our teachers. If you have a special talent or skill, let us know, we will be happy to find a way you can help out!
To assist us in this process, we will send a survey to you this week. Your feedback will aid us in planning a successful return to school.
I truly thank you for your partnership and trust. I am looking forward to an outstanding year of working together for the benefit of all our children! St. Theresa, pray for us.
In Christ,
