How can we best prepare today's young students to thrive in the future they will face? With new discoveries in areas such as medicine, technology, and others being made all the time, today's children will be part of a world that we can only begin to imagine. We often hear about the need for teaching children 21st-century skills, but what are they? Well, in education circles, they are now known as the Four C's.
Critical thinking,
Communication,
Collaboration, and
Creativity.
Some parents and schools may place too much emphasis upon the "Three R's." Reading, writing, arithmetic and other subjects must become avenues through which 21st century skills are channeled in an interdisciplinary manner. Being able to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate successfully, and create uniquely will be keys to each student reaching their full potential.
It is essentially that children become lifelong learners. They need to "learn how to learn." Since many of the jobs today's children will hold have not even been created yet, children must learn how to deal with uncertainty and change the future holds. As children in the global community, they will benefit from knowing other languages as well as being skilled in information, media, and technology skills. Finally, the Four C's are truly critical in a world in which we as school add a "Fifth C," our Catholic faith, because it is their vocation to use the gift of a Catholic education in order to make a positive difference in our world.
Your children have the benefit of being part of our amazing St. Theresa's Catholic School. This strong, positive, Catholic school community—grounded in a shared faith and the support and high expectations of parents, teachers, and the parish community—offers your children a foundation for facing the rapidly changing world around them. By sharing this belief in God's goodness and living out their faith every day, your children are blessed with a clear advantage in living and growing in our ever-changing world. This "Fifth C" is a keel that provides great stability in the often turbulent waters of life.

Some Things to Know Carline – Safety First! Carline often requires a bit more patience than other parts of our day. We need your help in making things run as smoothly as possible. Safety is our highest priority during Carline. Both the time carline takes and convenience are secondary matters. Please follow our school traffic procedures and obey all traffic laws when coming onto the campus in your vehicle. In particular, please assist us in keeping your children safe by observing these Carline procedures:
Please follow the instructions of the faculty and staff at all times.
Drop-off begins at 7:35 AM.
School begins at 8:05 AM sharp!
There are no walk-ups this year.
School ends and afternoon Carline begins at 3:20 PM.
Please refrain from cellular phone use while driving.
The speed limit on campus is 10/MPH.
Stay in your vehicle while in carline.
Follow the traffic pattern and respect the cue.
Be courteous.
Please use Westslope Dr (not Mt Bonnell Rd) to access Small Dr for afternoon pickup at Elmer Hall.
This past week drop-off ran exceedingly well and pick-up improved throughout the week. We thank you for your patience and cooperation with Carline. Please contact us at administration@st-theresa.org, if you have any questions regarding Carline. Thank you.
Principal Coffees – I have appreciated getting to see and chat with many of you at school in the past couple of weeks. I am looking forward to getting to know our community even better with several Principal Coffees over the next few weeks. These Coffees are scheduled for 45 minutes and begin at 8:45 AM. A Zoom link will be sent to parents in the grade the day before the event.
