Jean Farris Fuller, a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a distinguished organist with a legacy spanning six decades of professional excellence. Holding music degrees from Pittsburg State University, Kansas (B.M.Ed.) and the University of Texas (M.M), where she studied under the tutelage of Dr. Frank Speller, Fuller's mastery of the organ has earned her widespread recognition. Throughout her illustrious career, she has held esteemed positions at prominent institutions such as St. Theresa Catholic Church, Central Christian Church, and St. David’s Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas. Most recently, she retired from her role as Director of Music and Organist at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, leaving an indelible mark on the musical community. Renowned for her versatility, Fuller has accompanied esteemed choral organizations including Chorus Austin, Conspirare, and the Austin Symphony Orchestra, showcasing her talent on both organ and keyboard. Her musical prowess extends beyond the confines of Central Texas, as she has graced prestigious venues across the United States and abroad, captivating audiences with her solo performances. Notably, she has performed at renowned locations such as St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue in New York, The National Cathedral in Washington D.C., and as part of the UT Great Organ Series in Austin. Outside of her musical endeavors, Fuller enjoys a fulfilling family life with her husband George, a retired helicopter pilot with the Army National Guard. Together, they take pride in their daughters Susan and Alli, who reside in Victor, Idaho, and Stuttgart, Germany respectively. Adding joy to their lives are Fuller's two grandsons, Magnus and Benno, who also reside in Germany, completing the Fuller family's transcontinental bond. Though her contributions to music are vast and varied, Fuller's one and only movie appearance in "Waiting for Guffman" serves as a delightful footnote to her illustrious career.
