Internationally acclaimed organist Michael Ging, known for his sensitive interpretations and virtuosic technique, provides a sparkling end for the denouement of the series. His concertizing career spans multiple countries, including the Magdeburg Cathedral’s Orgelkunst Series and L’Église de la Madeleine in Paris. Co-founder of Seven-Eight Artists and an alumni of Oberlin, Rice and UH, Ging promises to excite and provide an exhilarating end to the 2024-2025 concert series! MICHAEL GING is a distinguished organist and entrepreneur based in Mérida, Yucatán, known for his captivating performances across the United States, Mexico, France, and Germany. His virtuosic technique, sensitive interpretations, and magnetic stage presence have garnered acclaim internationally. Michael’s repertoire spans from the Renaissance to contemporary compositions, and he has performed at prestigious venues such as Magdeburg Cathedral’s Orgelkunst Series, L’Église de la Madeleine in Paris, Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, and the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe in Orlando.
In addition to his performance career, Michael is an experienced organ consultant, contributing to capital projects for churches and institutions across the United States. His notable projects include the design and installation of organs for St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Houston and St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Charleston.
In 2017, Michael co-founded Seven Eight Artists, a prominent artist management agency, with his business partner Ryan Gagnon. The agency represents a roster of exciting concert organists from the United States, Canada, Germany, and Scotland.
Michael holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Houston, a Master of Music from Rice University, and a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He trained under esteemed mentors including Robert Bates, Ken Cowan, Jack Mitchener, and Matthew Dirst.
His previous posts include Adjunct Professor of Organ at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, as well as 22 years of church music ministry, notably serving as Principal Organist at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Houston and Director of Music and Organist-in-Residence at New Hope Lutheran Church in Missouri City, TX.
