"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life...". Through Baptism, we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God; we become members of the Body of Christ, the Church, and are made sharers in her mission. (Catechism 1213)
As parents and godparents, it is essential to truly understand the Sacrament of Baptism to fulfill your role as parents (primary educators of your child’s faith) and godparents (to support the parents and your godchild’s lifelong journey of faith).
Baptism preparation is offered to registered parishioners. The formation covers in detail the Sacrament of Baptism and the requirements of the Catholic Church. The formation also meets the necessary requirements needed to be a godparent. The parent(s) and the godparent(s) must have attended (or participated in) a Baptism Preparation Program within the last three years. If the parent(s) or the godparent(s) have not had formation within the last three years, they are welcome to register at St. Theresa Catholic Church. To register for infant baptism preparation, please contact James Gonzales directly at james-gonzales@st-theresa.org.
NOTE: If your child has turned 7 years old, please see our RCIA Adapted Process here.
Once all the above paperwork has been submitted and returned to the church office, you may contact the parish office to schedule the date for the baptism. (NOTE: You may choose to set a date via email by contacting donna-henderson@st-theresa.org . All forms must be attached to the email.
