A Guide to Marriage Preparation and Weddings

Congratulations on your engagement!

You are encouraged to seek the counsel of the clergy as soon as possible. Please do not set a date for your wedding prior to speaking with the clergy. Please contact the church office as soon as possible before setting any dates or making any arrangements for receptions, at least six months prior to when you would like to have your celebration of Marriage.

Steps to Set a Date/Reserve the Church

1. Complete the Marriage Intake Questionnaire (you will be contacted regarding the remaining steps).
2. Meet with a member of the clergy.
3. The deposit and agreement for facility usage must be received.

Remaining Steps to Prepare for Marriage

1. Complete the PREPARE-ENRICH premarital inventory.
2. Meet with a sponsor couple for 5 sessions. Alternatively, you may complete the Together in God's Love program with the Diocese of Austin.
3. Complete an introductory course on Natural Family Planning.
4. Meet again with the priest or deacon to discuss and plan the liturgy and all the details of the rehearsal and day of the wedding. For parish Wedding Music Guidelines and samples of wedding music click here.
