Hello STCS Families!
As we come to the close of this very “unique” school year, I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you! Thank you to parents, my teaching tribe, administration, but, most of all to the kids!
Throughout this COVID crisis, there has been a lot of talk about heroes! Well, I had the privilege and blessing to work with 16 heroes - tiny heroes! This year, we did not have our 175 days together “in the classroom”. This was unprecedented in all my years of teaching and I must say that those first few days were a little bit scary. I’ll admit, there is a list of fun activities and special things that we missed, by not physically being in our wonderful classroom, as these are things that could not be recreated in our “new classroom”. And, yes, I have missed not sharing those times with these kiddos. But, much more than those “things”, I have missed the 7+ hours each day that I got to laugh, smile and have those “aha” moments with these incredible little human beings. Their stories and jokes and endless questions, their hugs and kindness toward each other, their desire to be the best they could be - nothing can replace that kind of time together. To no surprise, though, they absolutely rocked the online learning. They impressed me every day with their resilience! These “tiny heroes” need to be applauded!
A favorite quote of mine:
The soul is healed by being with children. --Dostoevsky
I wish our STCS families the most fabulous summer! It is so deserved by all! God bless and stay healthy!
Love,
