Natural Family Planning (NFP) is an umbrella term for certain methods used to achieve and avoid pregnancy. In NFP spouses are taught to understand the nature of fertility and how to work with it, not against it. As a method, NFP calls for mutual responsibility by the husband and wife, requires couples to communicate, is based on scientific research and is highly effective, has no harmful side effects, and can be used in special circumstances – such as, post-partum, during breastfeeding, and pre-menopause.
The Natural Family Planning (NFP) Introduction Seminars satisfy the Diocese of Austin requirement for marriage preparation. In this session you will discover that NFP is about fertility awareness, is highly effective and scientifically supported, as well as easy to use. This course will also familiarize couples with the four approved methods of NFP within the Diocese of Austin.
If you are looking for a class to learn the basics of NFP or some information to discern which method would be the best for you, this seminar can also help you. This class is also required of couples who are preparing for marriage in the Diocese of Austin. A certificate of attendance will be provided upon completion of this seminar.
If you are preparing for marriage through St. Theresa, please sign up at www.austinfcc.org/registration to attend an introductory seminar.
