In a moment of crisis for the Taylor family, crucial assistance from St. Theresa’s SVdP came precisely when it was needed.
Addison and Alma have seven children ranging from 3 to 16 years, and two are on the autism spectrum. They lost their jobs two months ago. Then, compounding their challenges, their car was repossessed. Although Addison recently secured a long- distance trucking job, an eviction hearing was approaching within days. He feared for Alma and the seven children were homeless, and schooling was disrupted while he was on the road.
The family was waiting for confirmation of a grant from an Austin rent program, but those funds wouldn’t be released until they paid a significant balance – money they did not have.
The day before the Taylors’ court appearance, their grant came through with SVdP intervening with perfect timing, and the rent was paid at the courthouse. The eviction was dismissed! This timely assistance was a lifeline for the family and a reflection of the Holy Spirit's guidance within our ministry. Heartfelt thanks to the St. Theresa parishioners who made this possible!
