Technology

Our Maker Space Lab is a creative outlet for our students to explore new technologies. Students develop and build problem-solving and engineering skills as they explore different aspects of technology that include electronics, computer programming, robotics, photography, sewing and our 3-D printer. 

Students are also equipped with Google Crome Books starting in 2nd grade and PK3 - 1st grade have shared access for learning important computer skills.  Skills are strenghtened during our computer classes in our fully equiped computer lab.
 

• In early 2020, STCS received the Ozobot class set from the Advancing Our Mission Diocesan Grant.  We have 18 Ozobots and they are being introduced in 1st-4th grade.  Mrs. Warren, our technology teacher, will work with the teachers to integrate the Ozobots into their curriculum. There are cross-curricular projects for the students to use Ozobots for LA, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
• 6th graders are introduced to digital photography during their Technology Essential. They learn to use a digital camera and then use the Adobe Spark program to create a video presentation using their photos. 
• 5th graders learn how to use software to create a 3D model and it is printed using our Dremel 3D-40 printer. 
• Robotics is offered as an elective in our Middle School. The class is offered two days per week. Currently, we use the Lego EV3 Mindstorm robots.
